Stop selling Antarctic destruction
- Take action for krill and Antarctica
Swisse is krilling Antarctica
Krill are the foundation of Antarctica’s ecosystem, and Swisse is plundering them to make so-called health supplements
Supplied by Antarctica's biggest plunderer
Swisse’s krill products are sourced from Aker BioMarine (Qrill), the world’s most destructive krill fishing company, responsible for ~70% of all krill taken from the Antarctic.
Swisse complicit in the killing of whales
Aker BioMarine’s supertrawlers have killed six whales as bycatch since 2021, including humpbacks — directly tied to Swisse’s krill supply.
Stealing from wildlife
Krill fishing vessels target feeding grounds of whales, penguins, seals, and seabirds stealing food from the mouths of wildlife.
Competitors have already dropped krill
Global calls for an end to krill fishing
At the 2025 UN Ocean Conference, 75 conservation groups, scientists and public figures demanded a complete end to krill fishing in Antarctica.

Krill: Vital for Antarctica
Krill are the foundation of the Antarctic ecosystem. Whales, penguins, seals and seabirds all depend on them. Even the largest creature on Earth, the blue whale, survives on krill. Yet industrial supertrawlers are descending on Antarctica, plundering krill and turning them into products nobody needs, like krill oil supplements.
Floating factories of destruction
These floating factories — some over 130 metres long — trawl day and night, even in the midst of vast whale pods and beside penguin breeding colonies. At sea, they cook, boil or freeze krill to keep hauling them in without pause. The cost is catastrophic: Antarctica’s wildlife is having its food stolen from them.
Swisse Krills
Swisse’s krill oil supply is tied to Qrill (formerly Aker BioMarine), whose trawlers use giant nets and suction pipes to harvest relentlessly for days on end. This company takes around 70% of the entire Antarctic krill catch and its vessels have been linked to multiple humpback whale deaths in recent years through deadly entanglement.
Plunderer or Protector?
Swisse doesn’t have to be part of this destruction. Holland & Barrett, a leading wellness global retailer, committed to dropping krill oil in October 2025 due to concerns for the Antarctic marine ecosystem, promoting sustainable alternatives. Swisse has a choice: keep plundering Antarctica or do the right thing and protect Antarctica and its wildlife.

Accountable
Swisse profits from Antarctic destruction by selling krill oil. Together, we can pressure them to drop this product and protect whales, penguins, and the fragile Antarctic ecosystem.
